In an interview with Time magazine, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney pledged six percent unemployment by the end of his first term in office. “I can tell you that over a period of four years, by virtue of the policies that we’d put in place, we’d get the unemployment rate down to 6 percent, and perhaps a little lower,” he told Mark Halperin. Unemployment currently stands at 8.1 percent. Romney first pledged 5.9 percent unemployment when he released his economic plan in September of 2011, but he has not repeated the number since. The candidate said earlier this month, when April job numbers were released, that “anything near 8 percent or over 4 percent is not cause for celebration.” Setting a high-profile, specific goal could be risky for Romney should he win this fall. But during the campaign, it’s a specific, ambitious marker he can use to highlight what he believes to be the failed economic policies of the current president. And current CBO and OMB projections suggest unemployment will fall to about 6 percent in 2016. Romney and other Republicans have repeatedly claimed that Obama promised the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent. That number was a projection from Obama’s economic advisers outlining various stimulus scenarios, written before the president took office. Should he win, Romney said he hopes to start working on the economy right away. “My preference would be to have the opportunity to do that after the election as opposed to have the President in a lame-duck session try and create a solution that may not be in keeping with the new administration,” he said. Asked if he welcomed scrutiny of his record at the private equity firm Bain Capital, Romney replied that he would focus on Obama’s record. “[T]he American people are interested in, not so much in the history of where I was at Bain Capital, or that I have understanding of the private sector, but instead, has the President made things better for the American people?” he said. But, Romney added, “having been in the private sector for twenty five years gives me a perspective on how jobs are created.”
Are they any good? I live in TX and we don't have any but they have locations in Canada and Indonesia so I'm wondering why we can't get one down here.
Though renewed, Smash is to receive a reduction in its license fee. In addition to a reduced budget. So four actors had to be let go to free up some room in the budget. Raza Jaffrey, Jaime Cepero, Brian d'Arcy James and Will Chase will not return for the second season of the musical series. Money has been made available to add a new gay character (from Brooklyn) on the show to be a sounding board to Karen's character now that she is single.
I have enjoyed it and it's helped take my mind off my problems. I like the Peggy character, although in real life she is a Scientologist. She is also that annoying, staring right at you for too long girl from the Excedrin commercial on TV. The *kisses doll* girl has grown up.

Normally I love Mike Leigh's films and I saw this one when it was released years ago. I remember liking it at the time so I watched it again the other day. Oh my GOD! Could Brenda Blethyn's performance have been any more annoying? The whining and the constant crying. And the creepy relationship with the brother. I get that it's a character-driven film, but jeez I wanted to strangle Blethyn by the end of it.
I was a kid when this first come on, and I LOVED it. Now, not so much. But I wanted to brush up before the new series starts this summer. Things that I didn't remember about the show: Victoria Principal is beautiful, but she's a TERRIBLE actress. Charlene Tilton isn't the best actress, but she's little and cute, so I forgive her. Patrick Duffy is so fucking HOT! How did I miss this?!?! Linda Gray is pretty, and very talented. Is Jim Davis wearing a toupee? I'm on season two, and hoping it gets better...
Anyone else find this bitch annoying?
Renee Simonsen, Talisa Soto, Rosemary McGrotha, Roberta Chirko, Ashley Richardson, Suzanne Lanza, Fanny Ardant, Tatjana Patitz, Karen Mulder... I loved Linda, Cindy, Naomi and Christy.. But I loved these girls too.
So... the entire series has actually been a love-story between two straight men. Interesting.
How expensive is he?
Tell us about the first time you saw a cock... where? \ \ Me- my friend''s dad used to take us camping. Saw him shower... nice bod and beautiful cock.\ \ God I wanted him in my sleeping bag...
How are job prospects? I love a library and doing research!!

Jillian Michaels is diving into motherhood at full throttle. The trainer has not one but two new little ones at home. After a two-year journey, Michaels finally became a mother to the Haitian girl she had long been matched with. The lengthy adoption process was completed earlier this month and she brought Lukensia, 2, home to Los Angeles. Coincidentally, the very week that the one-time "Biggest Loser" trainer completed her adoption of Lukensia, her partner, Heidi Rhoades, gave birth to a son. The baby boy, who they named Phoenix, was born on May 3. “We’re swimming in babies over here,” Michaels, 38, tells People. “I don’t even answer email. I don’t have time to care about anything else. I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don’t want to rush any of it.” Michaels, who now appears as a fitness expert on "Dr. Phil," has long dreamed of starting a family. In fact, when she left "The Biggest Loser" last year, she said that a larger part of the reason for doing so what to focus on bringing home Lukensia. “I’ve been matched with a little girl,” Michaels told Access Hollywood in November. “I went over to visit orphanages and I ended up falling in love with this little girl, and by the grace of God, I got matched up with her. So now, it’s just a matter of trying to get her home and anything can happen and fall through or fall apart, so it’s kind of premature for me to say it, but that’s where it’s at." Michaels' previously opened up about the "nightmare" adoption process to Redbook magazine. "I’ve watched friends congratulate me on [starting] the process, get pregnant themselves, have a baby, and then their baby’s crawling," she said last September, "People are lapping me. My best friend just told me she’s pregnant, and of course I’m ecstatic, but I’m also like, Uhhh! [gestures stabbing herself]. Like, I want my kid to be playing with your kids!" Although she famously said she didn't want to get pregnant because "I can't handle doing that to my body," Michaels, who was overweight as a teen, has since revealed that she can't have children. "Turns out I had PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)," she also told Redbook. "But at a young age, I didn't know if I wanted kids, so I didn't really care. Then I got older, and I watched friends go through IVF, with years of hormones and devastation and disappointment, and I remember thinking: 'God wants something different for me. If I choose to pursue this path, I'll adopt.'
Congrats to Jillian Michaels who is now a proud mother of two!

And it was worth it! Even the overtime paid to four detectives. The State of California would like some reimbursement, please. Berkeley's police chief, criticized for sending officers -- some on overtime -- to Oakland to look for his son's stolen iPhone, has defended his actions, saying he thought the search was "worth it." Chief Michael Meehan made headlines this week after the San Francisco Chronicle reported he sent regular officers and those from a drug task force to look for the phone, which was taken from a Berkeley High School locker room Jan. 11. The phone's tracking software led police to a North Oakland intersection, but the phone wasn't found. The Chronicle said many officers had been "grumbling" about the search, which involved as many as 10 officers and included Meehan himself. Sgt. Mary Kusmiss, a police spokeswoman, said four detectives were paid overtime for the incident. Meehan -- who drew criticism and a legal investigation after sending Kusmiss to a reporter's home to ask for changes to a story in March -- defended his actions in an interview with the Oakland Tribune, saying he felt the case of the missing iPhone was handled appropriately. Meehan did not provide the Tribune with statistics on police staffing and responses during the hours when his son's phone was taken, but said in two other cases of stolen iPhones, 11 officers responded. "I think it was worth it," he said, when asked about the cost of the search for his son's phone. But the response wasn't specific to his son, Meehan told the newspaper, saying Berkeley residents should expect the same police work based on the resources available at the time. Meehan said the incident drew media attention because "it's the chief's son, so it's different." "But I don't understand why it has been cast this way," he said. "The facts are very straightforward." When asked if he felt his job was secure after the second controversy in recent months, Meehan said it was a "great question for the city manager."
